When I grow up I want to be like…

The 80’s and 90’s television made us dream that someday We would be superheroes. When I grow up I want to be like… Superman. But at the end, We finished being doctors, teachers, engineers…

With the evolution of TV programs and society, the dreams of youth have changed; girls want to be models, actresses or singers; boys, soccer players, basket, or any other sport.

Young people no longer want to enter in professions that have to do with numbers, concepts, or with analysis of situations; They only think about celebrations, fun, fashion and “the easy money”. With this problematic, a great generational breach was opened and causes that many parents don’t know how to act. If We leave them, who will construct buildings, bridges, software and will cure patients? If We try to guide them, We are taking away their freedom to decide about their future. Then, what can We do?

My Chilhood

About my childhood I can say that It was wonderful.

I went to kindergarten from 2 years, but I escaped because the School was next to my house…For this, my parents had to change me at “Los amiguitos” School.

After I studied in the “Escuela No. 76 para niñas” my elementary school. In this, I participed in most of cultural events with costumes, dances and things like that.

In the School, I liked math, art, phisycal education and computers but I hated social studies, it was boring.

I was in dances course in the Cajacopi; for this I was in the Grancentro’s inauguration. I was very nervous because there were a lot of people there, but It was wonderful.

I played with my neighbors to hide-and-see, jazzes, beauty contest, little school and I was a teacher, but now I don’t like to be teacher… When it was raining in my neighborhood, the street in front of my house is filled with water and my friends and I hunt little fish and turtles.

When I was 6 years, my mother won a trip to “Las trojas de Cataca” in the state of Magdalena. To get there, we had to take a bus to a town called Nueva Venecia, and then We took a canoe to reach the houses were above the water of the pond.

This experience was funny because It was my first canoe trip, but sad at the same time, because people are very poor.

In my vacations, I usually went to the beach or pool with my parents and relatives. We were all day in this place, It was a lot of funny, because my cousin an I loved the water, but my mother not so much.

We played in the sand, we made castle or We played with the ball.

For me was difficult moved a lot. Throughout my childhood, We moved about 4 times, and this didn’t allow me make many friends.

What else can I say? This is what I remember from my childhood righ now...
